A company is looking for a Coder responsible for accurately coding and abstracting medical records for inpatient hospital stays. Key Responsibilities Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and coding guidelines Coordinate with clinical documentation and quality teams to validate coding and support appropriate documentation Monitor work queues to ensure timely charging of all records and generate coding queries as needed Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two years of experience in inpatient facility coding Preferred certifications include CCS, CIC, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT Experience with ICD-10-PCS and CM coding Experience with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) is preferred
