Responsibilities
Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10.
Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) year of coding experience required.
No licensure/certification required by law.
One or more certifications required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H.
AHIMA accredited Coding Certificate program preferred.
Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience is a plus.
