Reviewing clinical documentation for accurate coding, the full-time Licensed Inpatient Coder will assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for Facility Inpatient records while working remotely. Key responsibilities Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for designated patient types, ensuring accurate MS-DRG assignments Abstract clinical data from records to support diagnoses, procedures, and discharge dispositions Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and participate in compliance programs and continuing education activities Required qualifications Active AHIMA or AAPC credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CCS-P, CPC) Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience with Acute Inpatient records Successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment
