To support a comprehensive healthcare network, the full-time Connecticut Certified Inpatient Coder will review inpatient clinical documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a 100% remote work environment. Key responsibilities Applies knowledge of anatomy and clinical processes to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for complex accounts Analyzes medical records and DRG assignments, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and departmental standards Collaborates with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to resolve coding issues and enhance documentation quality Required qualifications Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Two to three years of progressive experience in an acute care hospital Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding, UHDDS, and various DRG methodologies Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and coding software
