Job Description

Inpatient CoderSeeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with a strong background coding complex cases within a large academic hospital. This role requires excellent sequencing skills and experience across a broad range of inpatient specialties.Key Responsibilities:Code complex inpatient medical records with a strong focus on accurate sequencingCode Med/Surg, cardiac procedures, surgeries, OB/moms & babies, transplants, orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology, and oncologyReview approximately 2 charts per hour based on complexity/length of stayMaintain approximately 95% coding accuracy with a strong emphasis on qualityComplete initial charts for auditor review and incorporate feedback before independent codingQualifications:1+ year of inpatient coding experienceExperience coding within a large academic/teaching hospital strongly preferredStrong sequencing knowledge requiredExperience with complex surgical and specialty casesAHIMA certification: CCS, RHIT, or RHIAEpic experience preferredDolbey CAC experience helpful but not required; training availableAdditional Details:Full-time, 40 hours/weekContract-to-hireSet your own working hours but must establish and consistently maintain a schedule1 opening due to growthPanel interviewShort coding assessment requiredInterviews and start date ASAPInitial training includes 30 charts followed by auditor review; candidates reaching 85%+ will be released to code independentlyFlu vaccination required or declination availablePerks:Fully remoteFlexible working hoursCompetitive permanent compensationLow-turnover environment with openings driven by growthCEUs provided after conversionStrong internal promotion opportunities, including leadership rolesOpportunity to code highly complex cases within a major academic medical centerAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
