To support healthcare facilities, the part-time Emergency Department Coder will accurately abstract and code patient data into electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote work environment. Key responsibilities: Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various accounts following designated workflows Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation teams to clarify coding issues and improve documentation Required qualifications: Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential Minimum of 3 years of coding experience, with preference for Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience
