Job Description & Requirements Outpatient Coder StartDate: 9/7/2026 Pay Rate: $28.00 - $35.00 POSITION SUMMARY HIM Outpatient Coder POSITION DUTIES Must have two years of continuous hospital experience in coding/abstracting within the last five years. Demonstrated ability to understand the clinical content of a health record. Demonstrated ability to communicate with physicians in order to clarify diagnoses/procedures and sequencing of diagnoses. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) and eligibility to become a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 2-5 Years Hospital Experience LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT 21 weeks SHIFT / HOURS PER WEEK Monday- Friday - HI hours 8:00-5:00 SYSTEMS Epic START DATE 9/7/26 Facility Location As the commercial hub of the tropical Hawaiian island of Maui, Wailuku offers access to the very best of Hawaii's legendary beaches and outdoor adventures.
