To support coding accuracy in a hospital setting, the full-time Illinois Licensed Inpatient Coder will assign diagnostic and procedure codes for inpatient accounts, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely. Key responsibilities Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes based on clinical documentation and coding guidelines Coordinate with clinical documentation teams to validate coding accuracy for Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Group (MSDRG) and patient safety indicators Monitor work queues to ensure timely charging of all records and generate coding queries as needed Required qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent experience Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin No prior experience required
