Job Description

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote OBGYN Medical Coder will provide coding and abstracting services for inpatient, outpatient, and clinic visits, utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 data sets while ensuring compliance with established coding principles. Key responsibilities Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for coding Abstract information from medical records based on client guidelines and resolve ambiguities with physicians Mentor and provide training to new coders while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines Required qualifications Coding certification such as CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA At least 3 years of professional fee and facility coding experience, particularly in OBGYN Clinic & Surgery Proficiency in coding Clinic E&M and CPTs Experience with coding software such as EPIC, 3M, and 360 Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines
