To support a growing health information management team, the Maryland Licensed Inpatient Coder will review, code, and abstract inpatient medical records remotely, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accuracy in diagnosis and procedure coding. Key responsibilities: Review, code, and abstract inpatient medical records following established coding guidelines Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes, and determine Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) Maintain coding accuracy and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards Required qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent education in a specialized field required One (1) to three (3) years of inpatient coding experience Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA) with five (5) or more years of coding experience, Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is required
