To support a high-volume cardiovascular surgical program, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder - Cardiac Surgery will review outpatient medical records and accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for cardiac surgery procedures while ensuring compliance and optimizing reimbursement. Key responsibilities Review and accurately code outpatient cardiac surgery encounters and related services Assign appropriate modifiers and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and payer regulations Collaborate with clinical staff and revenue cycle teams to improve coding accuracy and charge capture Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred Current coding certification required (CPC, CCS, or COC preferred) Minimum of 3 years of outpatient coding experience required Minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular or cardiac surgery coding experience preferred Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding, and cardiac surgery terminology
