Inpatient Coder - Remote Acute Care Coding Job Near Dayton, Ohio

Experienced Inpatient Coder needed for a remote W2 contract supporting a high-acuity acute care hospital system near Dayton, Ohio.   • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1540-$1650
  • Employment Type: W2 contract

  • Schedule: 5 shifts per week
  • Shift Duration: 8-hour days
  • Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Duration: 26-week assignment with ongoing potential

Job Requirements
  • At least 1 year of inpatient coding experience required
  • CCS preferred; RHIT accepted
  • Strong knowledge of acute care inpatient coding guidelines, documentation review, and coding compliance
  • Experience coding complex inpatient cases, including neuro and cardio charts, preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a remote healthcare setting while maintaining accuracy and productivity
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to coding quality standards and reimbursement accuracy
Responsibilities
  • Review, abstract, and assign accurate inpatient codes for a variety of acute care hospital encounters
  • Code complex hospital cases with attention to clinical specificity, documentation integrity, and reimbursement outcomes
  • Maintain productivity standards while ensuring coding accuracy, quality, and compliance with payer guidelines
  • Use Solventum / 3M 360 Encompass to support inpatient coding workflows and documentation review
  • Collaborate with coding team members and operational partners to support timely account resolution
  • Apply current coding regulations, ICD-10-CM/PCS standards, and organizational policies to daily work
