Job Description

Working remotely, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder II will code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM and CPT classification systems for outpatient services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and collaborating with healthcare providers. Key responsibilities Codes procedures and diagnoses according to Official Coding Guidelines and payer rules Participates in professional development through online educational sessions and maintains participation records Communicates with providers to ensure accurate and specific documentation for coding Required qualifications High School Diploma with knowledge in Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology 2 years of coding experience or 3 years of coding experience in lieu of coding education Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) required upon hire Epic Certifications must be obtained within 5 business days of hire Coding education is required
