To support healthcare operations, the full-time Arizona Outpatient Coder will assign and sequence ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient accounts while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and utilizing electronic medical record systems in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for outpatient accounts based on physician documentation and coding guidelines Review and analyze medical records for accurate code selection and compliance with corporate coding practices Assist Patient Financial Services with coding interpretations and resolve routine coding issues as needed Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in a health-related field preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA privacy rules Certification as CCA, CCS, CPC-H, CPC, COC, or equivalent required Experience in coding outpatient accounts preferred, including knowledge of Medicare and claim edit guidelines Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and computer-assisted coding software
