Inpatient Coder with AHIMA Credential

Job Description

To support healthcare organizations, the full-time Inpatient Coder with AHIMA Credential will review clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for Facility Inpatient records, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for designated patient types, including Acute Facility Inpatient Review and analyze clinical records to ensure accurate MS-DRG assignments reflecting documented diagnoses and procedures Abstract clinical data from records to support diagnoses, procedures, and discharge dispositions while maintaining compliance with regulations Required qualifications Active AHIMA credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credential (e.g., COC, CCS-P, CPC) Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience with all record types, specifically Acute Inpatient Successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment Current knowledge of ICD-10 CM and PCS coding guidelines and regulations Experience with maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
