Working remotely, the full-time Maryland Licensed Inpatient Coder will code and abstract inpatient medical records, determine diagnosis-related groupings, and assign ICD-10CM/PCS codes to diagnoses and procedures. Key responsibilities Codes and abstracts medical records of inpatients following established conventions and guidelines Groups codes to determine diagnosis-related groupings (DRGs-CMS and/or APR) Reviews medical records to assign ICD-10CM/PCS codes to physicians' diagnoses and procedures Required qualifications Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years of college) Knowledge of a specialized field related to health information management
