Analyzing and coding inpatient medical records, the full-time Michigan Licensed Inpatient Coder will accurately assign ICD10-CM, ICD10-PCS, and CPT-4 codes while meeting productivity standards and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure coding accuracy and compliance. Key responsibilities Analyze medical records to determine coding and abstraction needs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with guidelines Assign and enter appropriate ICD10-CM, ICD10-PCS, and CPT-4 codes based on established standards Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists to clarify record information for correct code assignment Required qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information, or CCS certification with a minimum of 2 years coding experience Certification as a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required One to three years' experience using ICD10-CM and ICD10-PCS coding systems Demonstrated ability to meet productivity and quality standards
