Responsible for reviewing medical records and performing coding on all diagnoses and procedures, the full-time Outpatient Coder will ensure accurate coding for reimbursement and maintain compliance with regulatory standards while working remotely. Key responsibilities Abstract, code, and sequence clinical information from various medical records, ensuring accurate principal and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes Utilize coding principles and reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes and maintain compliance with external regulations Track productivity and maintain a quality rating of 95% or higher while adhering to company policies and HIPAA standards Required qualifications Minimum of 5 years of coding experience in outpatient settings Knowledge of coding conventions and rules established by AHIMA, AMA, AHA, and CMS Experience with medical coding software and encoders Familiarity with JCAHO standards and coding compliance regulations Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines
