Job Description

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Inpatient Coder will review clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting accurate billing and reimbursement processes. Key responsibilities Select and sequence ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS codes for various patient types, including Acute Inpatient and Emergency Department cases Review clinical records to ensure accurate MSDRG/APC assignments and abstract clinical data to support diagnoses and procedures Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and participate in continuing education to enhance coding skills and compliance with regulations Required qualifications An active AHIMA or AAPC credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, COC, CCS-P, or CPC) Three years of recent coding experience with various record types, including Acute Inpatient and Emergency Department Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets Ability to code at a 95% accuracy threshold while meeting production and quality standards Proficient in basic MS Office applications, including Excel and Outlook
