To support healthcare organizations, the full-time or part-time Emergency Department Coder will accurately abstract and code data into electronic medical record systems, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote environment. Key responsibilities: Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various accounts following designated workflows Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation teams to clarify clinical information and resolve coding issues Required qualifications: Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential Minimum of 3 years of coding experience, with preference for Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience Experience with LYNX and Epic/3M systems Proficiency in ED HB and PB coding, along with I&I experience Strong ability to follow established workflows and client-specific guidelines
