Job Description

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time salaried Tennessee Licensed Outpatient Coder will assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely with flexible shifts. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD 10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS in accordance with CMS requirements Maintain a 95% accuracy rate on quality reviews and adhere to assigned productivity standards Facilitate effective communication with medical staff to resolve documentation issues and ensure compliance with coding regulations Required qualifications Associate degree in a health-related field preferred One year of outpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital preferred Preferred certifications include Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Familiarity with Ambulatory Payment Categories (APCs) and Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) guidelines Knowledge of coding compliance guidelines and ethical standards
