Job Description

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Oncology Medical Coder will assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for outpatient hospital professional accounts, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and managing coding queries as needed. Key responsibilities Assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes based on clinical documentation for outpatient services Monitor work queues to ensure timely coding and charging of all records Stay updated on coding conventions and generate queries for clarification on physician documentation Required qualifications High School Diploma/GED Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (e.g., CPC, RHIT, CCS) 2+ years of experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding, specifically in Oncology 2+ years of experience using PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
