To support healthcare operations, the full-time Florida Licensed Medical Coder will review medical records, assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures, and ensure compliance with billing standards while working remotely within Florida. Key responsibilities: Reviews medical record documentation to assign codes and ensure accurate billing and compliance Communicates with insurance companies and collaborates with various departments to resolve coding errors and disputes Conducts audits and coding reviews to maintain coding accuracy and adheres to Official Coding Guidelines Required qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification from AHIMA One year of hospital-based outpatient coding experience or equivalent experience in physician billing Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Proficient in using electronic medical record systems and coding classification systems
