Supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time remote Certified Medical Coder will review and code various medical encounters, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and maintaining coding accuracy. Key responsibilities Review and code inpatient, outpatient, observation, surgery, and prosthetic encounters Apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards Identify documentation deficiencies and coding opportunities while maintaining HIPAA compliance Required qualifications Active RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent certification required Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience Experience with inpatient and outpatient coding Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Experience with Oracle Cerner preferred
