To ensure accurate coding for reimbursement and compliance, the part-time Sr. Certified Coder will review SDS and OBV records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and collaborate with departmental leadership while working remotely. Key responsibilities Abstracts and assigns diagnosis and procedure codes from patient records to ensure accurate APC assignment Audits medical records for compliance with coding guidelines and federal/state regulations Provides coding feedback and education to departmental leadership regarding documentation accuracy Required qualifications High School Education/GED or equivalent required; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required Three years of coding and healthcare experience required Working knowledge of hospital Cerner EMR required Understanding of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and conventions
