Position: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203
Job Type: Contract
Contract: 8 weeks with possibility of extension
Schedule: Day Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM | Monday–Friday
Pay: Up to $35/hour
Job Summary
Pride Health is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient for a contract opportunity in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in acute care coding, ensuring accurate assignment of codes in compliance with federal and payer guidelines.
Responsibilities
Perform inpatient medical coding in an acute care setting
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and related codes
Ensure compliance with federal billing and payer guidelines
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy
Utilize coding software such as 3M/HDS Encoder
Research and resolve coding discrepancies
Maintain productivity and accuracy standards
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams as needed
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience
Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, and coding guidelines
Experience with 3M/HDS coding applications
Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ED coding
Prior experience in acute care hospital settings
