What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Review inpatient hospital claims to ensure proper reimbursement and handle provider disputes
Assign appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes to patient records
Analyze, enter, and manipulate databases for accurate claims payment and diagnosis-related group assignments
Respond to internal requests for medical information and clarify discrepancies
Make independent decisions regarding work methods while adhering to established guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
RHIA, RHIT, or CCS Certification, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in one of these qualifications
MS-DRG coding/auditing experience
Proficiency in reading and interpreting claims
Experience in performing inpatient coding reviews/audits in health insurance and/or hospital settings
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in APR DRG coding/auditing
Background in Financial Recovery
Familiarity with a fast-paced, metrics-driven operational setting
