Key Responsibilities Analyze medical records and accurately code diagnostic and procedural information Abstract clinical diagnoses and procedure codes into electronic medical records Ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations for quality assurance of medical records Required Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent specialized training in medical record keeping Certification as a CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT in active status Three or more years of complex professional coding experience within the specialty Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as recommended by AHIMA coding competencies Ability to work effectively in a remote setting using common office programs and coding software
