Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Multispecialty Surgery Coder at Healthcare Inspired LLC. In this role, you will serve as a key member of our consulting team, accurately assigning medical codes to surgical patient records across multiple specialties, ensuring compliance with payer-specific and regulatory guidelines, and identifying opportunities to improve documentation that protect and optimize reimbursement for our clients.

You'll collaborate closely with healthcare providers, auditors, and fellow consultants to verify proper documentation, resolve coding discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of coded data for billing and reporting purposes. As part of our teach-as-we-work culture, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to provider education and help build best-practice workflows that drive meaningful, lasting change for the organizations we serve.

Qualifications

• Strong medical coding skills with demonstrated experience in multispecialty surgery coding (e.g., orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and/or other surgical specialties)
• Proficiency in medical terminology and health information management principles
• Relevant certifications such as CPC, CCS-P, CPMA, CDEO, COSC, or CIRCC are preferred
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance, payer policies, and regulatory standards (CMS, NCCI edits, LCD/NCD)
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation review
• Familiarity with encoder platforms, EHR systems, and revenue cycle workflows
• Ability to work independently and remotely with strong self-management and communication skills
