- Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8?hour days)
- Hours per Week: 40 (Full Time)
- Duration: 12 weeks (with potential for permanent placement)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,260 - $1,360/week
Qualifications / Job Requirements - High school diploma required (must submit with application)
- Minimum 2 years of recent medical coding experience - inpatient and/or outpatient
- Proficiency with EMR/Coding in EPIC (EPIC experience required/preferred)
- Strong knowledge of ICD?10?CM, ICD?10?PCS, and AMA CPT coding guidelines
- Preferred: Specialty certification in OB/GYN through AAPC (COBGC)
- Must reside in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, or New Mexico
- Online certification verification required prior to start
- Full?time, on?site availability required
- Must have two monitors and a laptop for work
Primary Responsibilities - Assign accurate ICD?10?CM, ICD?10?PCS, and CPT codes for inpatient and/or outpatient encounters
- Maintain coding accuracy (goal: 95% or better) and high quality on specialty/high?dollar account types
- Review clinical documentation, diagnostic results, and physician notes to support correct code selection and reimbursement
- Abstract data into electronic medical record systems (EPIC) and verify accurate patient dispositions
- Follow Official ICD?10?CM, ICD?10?PCS, and AMA CPT Guidelines and payer rules
- Collaborate with Health Information Management (HIM), Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) specialists, and providers to resolve documentation gaps
- Support departmental initiatives and assist leadership with special projects as requested
