Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join their team. This role involves managing billing processes, including charge posting, claim submissions, and patient inquiries. There is potential for this position to evolve into a leadership role, such as Billing Supervisor or Manager, within the next few months as the current manager prepares for retirement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Post and code charges for patient accounts
  • Process patient credit card payments and submit claims
  • Address billing inquiries via phone, email, or in-person
  • Maintain accounts receivable for both patient and insurance accounts
  • Manage denied claims, prepare corrected claims, and respond to records requests
  • Prepare customized patient ledgers in a timely manner
  • Assist patients with self-submission of self-pay services to their insurance carriers
  • Monitor and maintain patient payment arrangements
  • Sort incoming mail, faxes, and prepare checks for deposit
  • Research coding issues and assist with general billing questions

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of medical billing experience
  • Familiarity with major insurance carriers (excluding Medicare and Medicaid)
  • Experience with cash pay and self-pay services
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing terminology and the full revenue cycle process
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including credits and debits
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Leadership potential or previous leadership experience is a plus
  • Empathetic, with the ability to educate patients and staff on billing processes

Additional Details:

  • First 3 months are 100% onsite; after that, hybrid schedule (3 days remote, 2 days onsite)
