Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Biller to join their team. The primary responsibilities of this role include preparing, reviewing, and submitting claims, transmitting electronic claim files, and resolving any issues related to payer and clearinghouse. This role offers the potential for a hybrid work schedule, allowing candidates to work both onsite and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit claims, addressing any pre-submission edits or errors.
- Transmit and monitor electronic claim files (837s) across all payer types.
- Investigate and resolve payer and clearinghouse issues, including claim rejections (999s and 277s).
- Track and manage assigned work using internal systems, queues, and task lists.
- Consistently meet or exceed established productivity standards.
- Identify trends or issues in claims billing and escalate concerns to leadership as needed.
- Provide support on special initiatives such as rebilling efforts, coding support, and system configuration projects.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of experience in medical and/or behavioral health billing.
- NextGen experience.
- AHCCCS billing experience.
- Working knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, and diagnosis coding standards.
Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with an intermediate skill level in Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements - This role offers the possibility of a hybrid schedule with a shift selected from Monday-Friday, 7:00-3:30pm, 7:30-4:00pm, or 8:00-4:30pm (30-minute lunch).
- Candidates must have their own equipment, preferably a Windows-based system.
