2902 W Arlington Loop, Hattiesburg, MS 39401, USA Job Description Posted Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 6:00 AM POSITION SUMMARY: The Outpatient Coder works under general supervision to complete charge documents for outpatient services. The Certified Professional Coder, LPN, or RN is responsible for reviewing a patient’s medical records after a visit and translating the information into codes that payors use to process claims from patients. The coder will work under general supervision to complete charge sessions for outpatient services within the primary care setting. The coder must have a strong work ethic as there is a productivity requirement with the completion of a minimum of 240 charge sessions daily. The outpatient coder will be responsible for complying with medical coding guidelines and policies regarding appropriate CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS codes. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification, or, graduate from a school of nursing (LPN or RN), required If candidate is a graduate from a school of nursing without coding certification, then AAPC (CPC and CRC) certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire Must have minimum of two (2) years of experience Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCs codes, required Knowledge of billing and prior history working with denials for a variety of payors. Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology, required QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations/timelines Ability and desire to learn new technologies Must be timely and dependable Must be able to multi-task, work independently and be very detail oriented Must have excellent written and oral communication skills Must be able to complete documentation accurately Must be able to follow existing workflows WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Coders train for 3 months in the office then are able to transition to a hybrid schedule for 3 months, then once production is maintained, they can transition to completely remote.) #J-18808-Ljbffr
