To support independent healthcare providers, the full-time remote Profee Coder will be responsible for coding and abstracting diagnoses and charges from medical records to ensure optimal reimbursement and quality reporting. Key responsibilities: Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for various specialty service accounts and abstract key data elements for billing and regulatory purposes Review medical records for documentation accuracy and communicate with providers to clarify details for proper coding Resolve claim edits related to emergency department encounters and assist with coding errors for outpatient visits as needed Required qualifications: Credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CEDC, COC, CPC, CCS-P, or CCS Three or more years of coding experience Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems and federal/state reimbursement regulations Experience working in a remote environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
