Professional Fee Coder Job Requirements - At least 1 year of professional medical coding experience
- Required experience with audiology coding and allergy coding
- Experience coding ENT professional-fee services preferred
- Proficiency with 3M Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) required
- Ability to navigate TouchWorks and PowerChart as needed
- Strong knowledge of evaluation and management, office procedure, surgical, and diagnostic coding practices
- Excellent attention to detail, coding accuracy, and productivity in an on-site work environment
- Ability to manage a multispecialty coding workload and meet established quality and production standards
Medical Coding Responsibilities - Review and assign accurate professional-fee codes for ENT, audiology, and allergy encounters
- Code a varied mix of evaluation and management visits, office procedures, and surgical services
- Apply ENT coding expertise to thyroidectomies, sinus surgeries, larynx procedures, flexible scopes, and related ENT services
- Code audiology services, including VNG examinations, and allergy-related encounters
- Use 3M CAC to support efficient, compliant, and accurate chart review
- Navigate TouchWorks and PowerChart to locate and validate clinical documentation
- Maintain consistent coding quality while achieving an average production goal of 10 charts per hour
- Protect the confidentiality and integrity of patient health information
