Job Description

Translating medical narratives into accurate codes, the full-time Certified Coder II will perform coding for inpatient, outpatient, and complex medical records while maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Reviews various medical accounts to assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensuring documentation supports coding decisions Maintains a coding accuracy rating of at least 95% and meets productivity standards while coding medical records efficiently Reviews and resolves claim edits for billing purposes, making necessary corrections based on feedback from payers and auditors Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED Formal education in ICD-9-CM/CPT coding, medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, and disease processes At least 1 year of acute care coding experience or equivalent relevant experience Certification in Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
