Job Description

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Coder II will be responsible for coding diagnosis and procedure codes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines, while also participating in departmental meetings and maintaining productivity standards. Key responsibilities: Review and code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, ensuring accuracy prior to submission to billing Adhere to departmental policies and participate in monthly meetings to suggest operational improvements and maintain continuing education Meet coding accuracy and productivity standards, documenting daily statistics and addressing incomplete documentation through physician queries Required qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent Completion of an AHIMA or AACP-certified Coding program or equivalent, covering essential coding guidelines and medical terminology Two years of hospital coding experience Eligibility for RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certifications Knowledge of pharmacology and pathophysiology as required for coding specialty
