Seeking an experienced Certified Clinical Coder to work full-time remotely, focusing on coding and abstracting information from inpatient and outpatient records for the Cardiology group, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in CathLab and Electrophysiology coding. Key responsibilities: Codes and abstracts clinical data from patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accuracy for reimbursement Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to inpatient and outpatient accounts based on clinical documentation Participates in data quality peer review processes and assists with coding-related issues in collaboration with Patient Financial Services Required qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent GED Formal education in ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT-4 coding, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required; certification must be obtained within three years if not already certified Experience in ICD-10-CM coding and MS-DRG assignment, including student work experience Some experience with encoding software
