Professional Fee Coder Job Requirements - At least 1 year of professional fee coding or medical coding experience
- Required experience with ENT, audiology, and allergy coding
- Experience coding evaluation and management services, office procedures, surgeries, diagnostic exams, and specialty services
- Proficiency with 3M Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC)
- Ability to navigate TouchWorks and PowerChart as needed
- Strong understanding of professional fee coding guidelines, documentation requirements, healthcare revenue cycle operations, and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and productivity
Medical Coding Responsibilities - Assign accurate professional fee codes for ENT services, including office visits, procedures, and surgical cases
- Code services related to thyroidectomies, sinus surgeries, larynx procedures, flexible scopes, audiology, and VNG examinations
- Review clinical documentation to support accurate coding, compliance, and appropriate reimbursement
- Use 3M CAC to improve coding consistency and workflow efficiency
- Navigate TouchWorks and PowerChart to locate and validate relevant patient and service information
- Meet established productivity expectations while maintaining high coding accuracy
- Identify documentation or coding discrepancies and follow appropriate resolution processes
