To support a growing physician practice, the part-time per diem CPC Certified Medical Coder will abstract clinical information and assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes from medical records, ensuring accurate billing for outpatient services while working remotely. Key responsibilities Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management codes and minor surgical procedures from provider documentation Research coding/billing issues and recommend appropriate methods of coding/billing Analyze medical records for coding appropriateness and collaborate with Coding/Charge/Audit Analysts to resolve issues Required qualifications CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required Minimum of two years of records coding experience or equivalent education High School Diploma or GED required Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology and Medical terminology required Previous experience with an electronic legal health record system preferred
