Key responsibilities Review clinical documentation to confirm diagnostic and procedural codes, ensuring compliance with established guidelines Verify all information required for clean claim submissions, adhering to Teaching Physician guidelines Participate in team training and maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops and publications Required qualifications Four years of related work experience, with two years in a similar role or an Associate's degree Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A) certification through AAPC, with the goal of achieving CPC status within two years General knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCs coding, and medical terminology Demonstrated ability with electronic health record systems and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of Federal payer regulations, third-party payers, and HIPAA rules
