To support oncology services, the part-time Texas Licensed Cancer Coder will review, interpret, and verify diagnostic and clinical codes for oncology providers, ensuring compliance with coding principles and guidelines while working remotely. Key responsibilities Review and audit charges in inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure compliance and accurate charge capture prior to claim submission Provide feedback to physicians and management regarding proper documentation, coding practices, and denial management Stay updated on oncology coding standards and guidelines to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Required qualifications CPC certification required within 6 months from date of hire 2+ years of billing experience in a clinic or physician office setting 1+ years of coding experience abstracting from clinical notes or dictations Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules and regulations Solid understanding of medical terminology
