To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Certified Coder II will research and code office, surgical, and procedural reports by assigning accurate CPT, ICD, and HCPCS codes while ensuring compliance with CMS guidelines. Key responsibilities Accurately assigns diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with department policies and productivity standards, achieving a 95% accuracy rate Consults with physicians and staff to clarify documentation and resolve billing and denial issues within established industry limits Provides education on coding updates to professional provider staff and tracks physician coding patterns for reporting to leadership Required qualifications Certification as a Certified Coder II or equivalent coding certification Experience with ICD and CPT-4 classification systems Knowledge of CMS coding guidelines and compliance standards Ability to work independently and remotely while managing workflow effectively Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in coding practices
