Responsible for coding inpatient accounts under $15,000 and outpatient accounts, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Coder I will provide timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement while working onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Key responsibilities Code inpatient and outpatient accounts accurately for reimbursement and statistical purposes Utilize the 3M encoder to group discharges and select appropriate DRGs Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues Required qualifications Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Outpatient Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required Associate's Degree in Health Information Management preferred; Bachelor's Degree also preferred 2 years of inpatient coding experience preferred
