Remote Profee Coder II

Seeking an experienced Profee Coder II with strong inpatient hospitalist, observation, E/M, and multispecialty coding experience. This is an urgent need supporting a coding backlog, so candidates must be comfortable working independently and quickly reaching productivity expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inpatient hospitalist and observation Profee coding
  • Code E/M services, modifiers, and diagnoses
  • Review front-end charges and perform charge review
  • Support outpatient Profee coding across Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Urgent Care, Pediatrics, Allergy, Pulmonary, GI, Urology, and other specialties
  • Code Medicare Wellness visits and chronic conditions
  • Apply current and 1995/1997 E/M guidelines
  • Review denials when applicable, including surgical denials
  • Maintain approximately 8 encounters/charges per hour after ramp-up

Qualifications:

  • Strong inpatient Hospitalist and Observation Profee coding experience required
  • Surgical denial experience highly preferred
  • Strong E/M, modifier, and diagnosis coding knowledge
  • Multispecialty and front-end Profee coding experience
  • Medicare Wellness coding experience preferred
  • AAPC certification required
  • Epic and 3M experience preferred
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance and meet production standards

Additional Details:

  • 1 opening urgent need due to backlog
  • Full-time, remote
  • Training schedule must start between 79 AM EST; typical options are 7 AM3:30 PM or 8 AM4:30 PM EST
  • Flexible scheduling available after training
  • No late nights or weekends
  • Coding assessment required before submittal
  • Assessment requires primary/secondary diagnoses, modifiers, supported E/M level, and MDM rationale
  • Phone interview after successful assessment
  • Epic EMR / 3M encoder
  • Addison Group computer provided
  • Targeted start approximately 2 weeks after selection
  • Standard background check/drug screen required
