Working remotely on a full-time basis, the CPC Certified Coder II will review medical records for UPMC Cancer Centers, ensuring accurate coding and maximizing reimbursement by applying coding guidelines and resolving denials. Key responsibilities: Utilize coding guidelines to assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes, ensuring accuracy and completeness Monitor and resolve coding edits and denials in a timely manner to optimize reimbursement Formulate physician queries for incomplete documentation and actively participate in monthly coding meetings for operational improvements Required qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of coding experience with schooling, or 3 years of experience with CPC certification Graduate of an approved certified coding program preferred Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Medical Terminology, and coding guidelines Eligible for CPC or CPC specialty certification
