Job Description

To ensure coding accuracy and compliance, the remote full-time North Carolina Surgical Coding Auditor will perform quality reviews of medical records, validate coding accuracy, and assist with authorization evaluations for procedures. Key responsibilities Conduct quality reviews of medical records to ensure accurate and compliant coding and billing Validate surgical/procedural coding accuracy, documentation support, and compliance with coding guidelines Assist in evaluating and ensuring proper authorization for procedures performed on the authorized date of service Required qualifications RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC certification Five or more years of hospital coding and/or coding auditing experience in a healthcare entity Current knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding Understanding of coding rules, guidelines, and regulatory updates Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service aligned with organizational standards
