Job Description

To support accurate patient care documentation, the full-time hourly Indiana Licensed Coder III will abstract and code diagnoses and procedures from Facility Inpatient medical records while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Abstract and code diagnoses and procedures from Facility Inpatient medical records using assigned classification systems Enter accurate coding information into the computerized abstracting system for hospital reimbursement and patient care evaluation Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) staff to ensure accurate capture of DRG and ROM/SOI for each patient Required qualifications: Knowledge and experience with Facility Inpatient medical record coding Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and applicable coding guidelines Current coding credentials such as CPC, CPC-A, CCA, RHIT, or CCS Understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle and hospital reimbursement (preferred) Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards in a healthcare coding environment
