To support the healthcare team, the full-time Florida Licensed Inpatient Surgical Coder will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient surgical records, ensure accurate DRG assignments, and maintain compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely. Key responsibilities Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient surgical and procedure-based records Review documentation to validate coding accuracy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Identify documentation gaps and collaborate with clinical teams to improve coding practices Required qualifications High School diploma or equivalent 4+ years of acute care hospital coding experience, including complex surgeries Completion of the AdventHealth inpatient surgical coding training program may substitute for experience Certification as a CCS, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and inpatient reimbursement processes
