Job Description

Supporting a diverse range of clients, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will primarily code for dermatology while also applying orthopedic knowledge to ensure coding integrity, compliance, and denial resolution in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Translate clinical documentation into accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes, focusing on dermatology and orthopedic procedures Validate provider documentation against E/M leveling guidelines and communicate directly with practice managers and physicians regarding any discrepancies Research and resolve complex coding-related denials, utilizing AI tools to draft appeals and expedite processes Required qualifications Active AAPC certification with 1 to 2 years of medical coding experience, particularly in dermatology Experience in orthopedic coding is highly desirable Proficiency in navigating modern EHR and practice management systems such as ModMed, EZDERM, and eCW Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with AI tools and a focus on efficiency in coding practices
